Energy production in the Sao Paulo State
Capture and combustion of methane produced by animal dejection
BIOGAZ FARMS IN BRASIL
THE CONTEXT
The environmental impacts of breeding intensification in Brazil are multiple: the storage and the decomposition of animal wastes generate high greenhouse gas emissions and air, water and ground contagion. These contagions are sources of diseases for the local populations. Being given the importance of these activities for the rural development, the program of methanation consists in investing in a responsible way, to limit these environmental impacts, while facilitating a long-lasting commitment of local producers.

THE PROGRAM
This program is executed by Eco-Act
  • Ambiant tempeture digestors installation, replacing open air puddles in several farms.
  • Recuparation and combustion of biogaz produced by animal dejection and utilization as source of energy(sunstainable energy equipment).
  • Kyoto Protocol utilisation for project monitoring.

THE VALUES ASSOCIATED WITH THE PROGRAM
Enforce your social responsability
  • Fight against global warming by reduction of greenhouse gas emissions up to 20 000 tons of CO2, an efficient and sunstainable solution for animal waste management.
  • Social engagement: local participation for a sunstainable energy production solution. Farmers and engineers are involved in the process.

THE PROGRAM EVALUATIONS
Real time program monitoring
  • EcoDev Reorting tool.
  • Environamental and social indicator tracking.
  • Control by an independant third party.
