REFORESTING THE PLANET
THE CONTEXT
The tropical forest « Atlantica » spreads all along the Bresilian atlantic coast. It includes 20 000 types of trees, among which 8 000 are endemic. Proclaimed « World Reserve of the Biosphere » by the UNESCO, it contains numerous endangered sorts: following an extensive exploitation of its lands, the forest represents today less than 10 % of its surface of origin.

THE PROGRAM
This program is executed by Eco-Act
  • Minimum reforestation of 100 000 trees on 60 hectares with 80 endemic sorts
  • Income for 20 poor families for 10 years.
  • Plantation, irrigation and follow-up during 20 years.
